Austin GP, amazing Ferrari double! Leclerc triumphs, Sainz is second

Gigantic performance by the two Ferraris from Maranello who conquered the first two positions over the 56 laps on the Circuit of the Americas (Texas). Charles Leclerc, who started fourth on the grid, and Carlos Sainz achieved an incredible one-two that the fans had been missing since March 24th with the Australian GP. The two raced each other, almost cynically taking advantage of the confusion created between the two title contenders Lando Norris and Max Verstappen.

The Dutch champion himself finished third because, despite finishing behind Norris, he took advantage of a 5-second penalty imposed on the Englishman by the race officials and earned the lowest step of the podium. Fifth place for Oscar Piastri’s McLaren, sixth Sergio Perez, seventh George Russell, eighth Hulkenberg, ninth Lawson and tenth Franco Colapinto with Williams.

Leclerc: “We couldn’t dream of anything better”

“We’re happy, we couldn’t have dreamed of anything better. In Turn 1 we launched well at the start, I knew we would end up very close at the first corner. Yesterday I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, today I had an extraordinary pace and we managed excellent. In short, we had an excellent pace for the weekend and in the race. I thank the engineers for the updates that have had their effect since Singapore. The team worked very well, everything worked perfectly title but the road is long.” This was said by Charles Leclerc, of Ferrari, winner of the Austin GP.
