After incident with fan: Hinteregger’s suspension lifted

The suspension of the former football team player Martin Hinteregger has been repealed.

As the Players’ union VdF announced on Tuesday, was one Protest the VdF against the decision of the penalty committee of the Carinthian Football Association on Monday evening granted.

Hinteregger, who for the SGA Sirnitz im Carinthian lower house plays and also trains the club, is now allowed to exercise all functions in football again.

Hinteregger pushes fan over

The 32-year-old former international knocked over a fan in the game against Mittlern in mid-September, and the man affected filed a criminal complaint against the former Frankfurt professional. The Carinthian Association’s penalty committee then suspended Hinteregger until all the circumstances surrounding the alleged push were clarified.

“The suspension could have lasted up to a year or longer and was absolutely excessive. We are happy that Martin is allowed to stand again with immediate effect,” said VdF chairman Gernot Baumgartner in a statement. The Carinthian Association said that the exact time for a decision in the case cannot currently be foreseen.
