Thiago Heleno asks for a pact and guarantees that Athletico does not fall

Captain and one of the main leaders of the Athleticothe defender Thiago Heleno suggested a pact with the fans. After the defeat to Fluminense, the defender wants the fans’ support, said that the board will promote tickets and guaranteed that Furacão will not be relegated to Series B in the centenary year.

“There’s nothing more to say. I think that’s enough. Enough is enough. We have to make a pact, all Atletico fans, if we want to get out of this situation. If not, it will be very difficult. We don’t have to be saying no”, he said, in an interview with Premiere.

“I’m not one to give interviews and ask for a lot of things. My main point is to help the team in the locker room and on the field. But at this moment I come to ask that all the fans who can, leave home and go to the Arena to support us It will be very important. Only with them will we get out of this situation”, he added at the press conference.

Athletico has 11 games without winning, eight defeats and three draws. Furthermore, the team is still suffering its fifth defeat in the five games since coach Lucho González arrived.

As a result, Furacão occupies 18th place, with 31 points, one less than Vitória, the first team outside the relegation zone. However, the red-black team has one game less than its rivals, as the duel against Atlético-MG, in the 19th round, does not yet have a set date.

“There will be no relegation. The appeal is precisely for that reason. We don’t believe in it. We will fight to make sure it doesn’t happen and it’s time. It just depends on us. The pact is more than important to us. The fan has already proven to everyone, in our house, that he is the 12th player and enters the field”, he said.

The defender also made a guarantee that the red and black board will promote tickets for the game against Cruzeiro. The duel, valid for the 31st round of the Brasileirão, takes place next Saturday (26), at 6:30 pm, at the Ligga Arena.

It is worth mentioning that, so far, the club has not released check-in for members, which is usually done a week in advance. The players would have spoken to the board, who are evaluating this action to attract fans.

“I’m sure that the board, we are responsible for this, will do something to put this together, because it’s a little far away. We can’t give a break. I’m sure that, with them, we’ll get along well” , added the defender.

In the end, Thiago Heleno still took stock of the Red and Black centenary season. At the club since 2016 and with a contract until the end of 2025, the defender experienced Furacão’s most successful season and is now experiencing the fight against relegation to Series B.

“I’ve been here all this time and I see all the employees giving a lot so that we can show our best on the field. Unfortunately this year was very difficult, we didn’t achieve our goal.
