LaLiga requests the RFEF to postpone all matches that were to be played in the Valencian Community

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed LaLiga’s proposal this Wednesday to postpone the LaLiga EA Sports and LaLiga Hypermotion matches that were to be played this weekend in the Valencian Community, after the serious situation caused by DANA in the last few hours.

“Given the current situation suffered in Spain by DANA that has caused numerous victims and victims, with special impact in the Valencian Community, LaLiga, at the request of the clubs, has requested the RFEF to postpone the matches on matchday 12 of LaLiga EA Sports and matchday 13 of LaLiga Hypermotion that were to be played in the Valencian Community during this weekend,” the association says in a statement.

For its part, the RFEF announced on its website that it has said request, which affects the matches: Villarreal CF-Rayo Vallecano, Valencia CF-Real Madrid, CD Castellón-RC Ferrol, CD Eldense-SD Huesca and Levante UD-Málaga CF .

Both the Federation and LaLiga remember that in the rest of the matches a minute of silence will be kept in memory of the DANA victims, in addition to showing “their condolences and those of all the clubs and SAD’s of Spanish football to family and friends of the victims, and expresses its solidarity with the families of the victims and the missing.”

“In the same way, the RFEF, as has happened with the matches of the first qualifying round of the Copa del Rey and with some matches of the CESA under-14 and under-16, will request that the same measure be taken in non-professional competitions that are dispute in the aforementioned territory,” the federation note points out.

The postponement of the Valencia Féminas-RC Deportivo has also been requested, corresponding to League F, and this request can also be extended to the rest of the non-professional matches played in the Valencian Community.

“Spanish football wants to express its dismay at the tragedy that is being experienced and sends its condolences to the families of the deceased,” adds the RFEF.
