Mikkelin Jukurie’s share issue will take place – the financial difficulties are still big

The Jukurs have financial difficulties.

Jukurien the share issue will take place, the club announced on Wednesday evening. The minimum amount of the share issue of 250,000 euros has been collected, and the club will continue the issue for another month until November 30, in order to complete the ongoing share negotiations.

In June, Jukurit started issuing shares to balance its finances.

“Meeting the minimum number of subscriptions partly secures the financial success of this season. Despite the realization of the share issue, the economic situation is very tight and the future uncertain. We are still negotiating about share subscriptions, so by extending the validity period of the share issue, we will have the opportunity to increase the number of share subscriptions”, CEO of Jukurit HC Oy Antti Laakso tells in the bulletin.

Jukurit has also cut its expenses by around 700,000 euros. According to the club, business sales have been more lively this past season than last season, but the number of spectators at Jukurie’s home matches has been small. After nine home games, we are 752 spectators per game behind the budgeted average of 3,000. The club says that “if the number of spectators cannot be increased, Jukurie’s financial situation will become even more difficult and the future as a league club may be at stake”.

“We are significantly behind our audience target and the reality is that audience numbers are a key part of cash flow. Mikkeli deserves his own league club, the activities of which we strive to develop year by year, so we hope that we will find ways to get people to the hall. The income streams brought by ticket sales and ancillary sales are naturally also important for supporting sporting success,” says Laakso.

Jukurit is the league jumbo with 12 points from 19 matches.
