Friedkin confirm Juric for two games, Roma navigate on sight

A first decision has arrived: not to decide, at least for the next two games. And Ryan Friedkin they communicated to the team, and leaked to the outside of Trigoria, that Ivan Juric he remains Roma’s coach for the trip to Belgium against Union Saint Gilloise on Thursday and for Sunday’s championship round at home against Bologna. The prospect is to live day by day, with the results lengthening or shortening the Croatian coach’s stay. The contacts initiated to find an alternative solution remain in place and the possibility of changing technical leadership during the national team break, immediately after these two close appointments, remains an option.

The question that comes immediately after the news, and that all Roma fans are asking themselves, is above all one: it is a convinced choice, because it is believed, as those who indirectly report the rumor of the ownership say, that Juric is the right coach to be able to arrive at the turning point needed, or is it a decision imposed by the lack of solutions or, even worse, by the difficulty of planning a future that goes beyond the immediate prospect?

There is a first fact that seems evident. The disproportion in the approach to the problem, the results that are missing, adopted towards the coach that the Friedkins had chosen for a three-year plan, Daniele De Rossisacked after 4 games (3 draws and one defeat) and towards Ivan Juric, coach chosen to arrive until June, confirmed after three defeats (including the disastrous one in Florence), one draw, and only one victory in the last 5 championship games.

It is not only a problem of different treatment, which can also be dictated by off-field reasons, but also and above all of the ranking: Roma were sucked to the edge of the relegation zone, frustrating any seasonal ambition and running unimaginable risks just a month and a half ago ago.

The other factor to consider is the environmental one. The broken relationship with the fans after De Rossi’s dismissal is difficult to recover. Doing so without giving a perspective that isn’t credible seems even more difficult.
