Achievement at the Benabeu for Milan, 3-1 over Real Madrid

Milan achieves the feat in the Champions League and beats Real Madrid away in the match valid for the fourth matchday. At the Santiago Bernabeu the Rossoneri won 3-1 at the end of a sumptuous match thanks to goals from Thiaw, the former Morata and Reijnderswhile the penalty of the momentary equalizer scored by Vinicus was of no use (a late goal from Rudiger was also canceled by the VAR). Second European success in a row for Paulo Fonseca’s team which rises to 6 points in the standings, overtaking the men of the other great ex Carlo Ancelotti.

The Rossoneri had a good impact on the match, as they immediately showed great character and resourcefulness and immediately took the lead in the 12th minute with Thiaw’s goal: the German headed in Pulisic’s corner and gave the visitors the lead. The Blancos are not willing and try to respond just a turn of the clock later, frightening Maignan with Mbappe first and then Vinicius but without finding any luck.

In the 21st minute, however, the episode that leads to the Spanish equalizer arrives: Vinicius is brought down in the area by Emerson Royal, the referee blows the penalty and the Brazilian himself coolly scores the 1-1. However, Fonseca’s team does not seem to feel the pinch and, after an attempt by Reijnders saved by Lunin, they regain the advantage in the 39th minute with the former Morata: the Spaniard pounces on the goalkeeper’s rebound after a shot by Leao and from a few steps away The Rossoneri made no mistake with the 2-1. At the end of the first half, Real tried to grab a new equalizer, but still had to deal with an attentive Maignan who saved on a counterattack diagonal from compatriot Mbappe. In the second half we expect a change of pace from the Spaniards, but in the 52nd minute Milan came close to scoring with Leao, who headed Emerson’s cross, calling Lunin into the intervention.

In the 69th minute, Morata tries again, unlucky in hitting the outside of the post with a deflection on Pulisic’s corner. For the AC Milan trio it was a matter of moments, because just three minutes later Leao burst out, swinging to the left and serving the ball to Reijnders for the incredible 3-1. The hosts did not give up and in the final they would find the goal of hope with Rudiger, however made in vain by an intervention by the VAR which punished an active offside by Rodrygo. Before the final whistle, everything happens: Loftus-Cheek has the poker ball at his feet but lets it be blocked by Lunin, while on the other side Maignan has a great reflex on Brahim Diaz’s close-range header.
