Rome, Juric sacked. From Mancini to Garcia, the names for the new coach

Roma lost at home to Bologna and opened another crack in their crisis with their second dismissal of a coach in less than two months. After the decision to send Daniele De Rossi away, with only 4 matches behind him, the internal defeat with the rossoblu convinced Dan and Ryan Friedkin to change again and sack Ivan Juric. Just 53 days passed between the two sackings, with few points under his belt and many disappointments in the league and cup. Giallorossi sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has already been working on a replacement for some time, given that Juric’s fate was clear to everyone before yet another misstep.

The names on Friedkin’s agenda

There are not many names that could be suitable for Roma: the candidate coaches must know the Italian championship, have charisma, credibility in a complex dressing room and the ability to take Roma out of this situation before it becomes even more complex. The first name above all seems to be that of the former Italy and Saudi Arabia coach Roberto Mancini, with a past at Lazio and with the obstacle regarding the duration of the contract. The coach would like at least a two-year contract, even if there are no confirmations of direct contacts with the club. The alternative could be represented by Claudio Ranieri who knows the environment well and could be the right ferryman to bring the ship to port before a definitive change in the summer. At this moment it seems much more difficult to think of a return for Daniele De Rossi.

Another quality card could be that of Massimiliano Allegri, who after his dismissal from Juventus is looking for a new project, but also in this case long-term. The current Turkey coach Vincenzo Montella is also on the list of names. Then there are the possible foreign alternatives, such as the Frenchman and former Giallorossi coach Rudi Garcia who, however, did poorly at Napoli, where he was sacked. Other profiles circulating in recent hours are those of Frank Lampard, Graham Potter and Edin Terzic. Another gamble, perhaps too much for an already very complicated year.
