The 2025 European Championship year begins with a bang for the German footballers: On February 21st, national coach Christian Wück’s selection will start the Nations League in the Netherlands. The home game against the Austrians follows four days later.
The guest game in Scotland continues in the spring, followed immediately by the second leg (April 4th and 8th). The Oranje team will be visiting Germany on May 30th before the final of Group A1 takes place in Austria on June 3rd. The exact kick-off times and venues will be announced in the next few weeks, said the German Football Association (DFB).
The Nations League also helps the DFB women get in the mood for the European Championship in Switzerland (July 2 to 27, 2025). Only the best two teams in each of the four A groups will secure the league for the “European Qualifiers” for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
The semi-finals of the group winners will take place at the end of October. The final and third place match will be played between November 26th and December 2nd, with all knockout duels taking place in a new return-leg format. This year the German selection will play two more test matches in Switzerland (November 29th) and in Bochum against Italy (December 2nd).
