MotoGP star Jorge Martin is racing towards the world title

Barcelona steps in for Valencia, which was devastated by the flood disaster, and thus experiences the Showdown of this year’s MotoGP World Championship and, if everything goes according to plan, we will be able to celebrate a Spaniard.

Jorge Martin is 24 points ahead of world champion Francesco Bagnaia and could already take the lead in the sprint race on Saturday Fix title. He wants to turn the tables after losing the World Cup final against Bagnaia last year and reap the fruits of his work.

“It’s basically that you win the world title race by race. At the season finale it’s all about taking home the medal.”

Defending champion Francesco Bagnaia again believes in his chance and wants to win both Barcelona races. If there was a tie on points, he would be ahead because he had more wins.

Martin, born in Madrid, would like to say goodbye to Ducati and go to Aprilia with the title sweet revenge take.

For two years he waited in vain for a place in the factory team alongside Bagnaia; once Enea Bastianini and then Marc Marquez were preferred to him. Disappointed and angry, Martin now leaves.

Premiere possible

The 26-year-old is also about to make history in the premier class. He could become the first world champion of the modern MotoGP era since 2002 with a satellite team (Pramac-Ducati) takes the drivers’ title.

The last pilot who managed to do this was a certain one Valentino Rossi. The Italian motorcycle legend is also considered Martin’s role model.

Jorge Martin is not only a fast racing driver, but also a Pilot with type certificate. Someone who raced straight onto the podium as a newcomer, broke a lot of bones in a fall in Portugal a little later and made a sensational comeback a few weeks later.

Anyone who follows the Spaniard on social media knows that he has gone crazy. And it goes by the name “Kuala”. The beagle appears frequently in his posts and takes its name from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia where Martin became Moto3 world champion.

Martin doesn’t just accelerate on the race track and on two wheels, he also enjoys snowboarding on the snow in his homeland of Andorra.

He is also considered a passionate cyclist who enjoys looking at and memorizing the race routes on his bike. He forms a pedal duo with compatriot Aleix Espargaro.

Not much gets under cool Martin’s skin, except his tattoo artist’s ink. The Spaniard has some tattoos scattered across his body ranging from different animals to different slogans.

But his favorite tattoo is just the number series 080821 – the date of his first victory in the premier class at the GP in Spielberg. It’s quite possible that another tattoo will be added after the coming weekend: 171124.
