Lakers celebrate fifth NBA win in a row

The Los Angeles Lakers have extended their winning streak and are currently in better shape than almost any other team in the NBA. The basketball team led by stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis won against the New Orleans Pelicans 104:99 and achieved their fifth success in a row. No other team in the Western Conference can boast such a series; only the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are still undefeated after 14 games, are in a better position in the league.

Anthony Davis had 31 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers, James recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds. NBA rookie Dalton Knecht played from the start and scored a strong 27 points. For the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram was the most successful scorer with 32 points, but world champion Daniel Theis was once again not used.

In the Western Conference table, the Lakers are in fourth place after 13 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks moved past the Los Angeles Clippers with their 110:96 win against the San Antonio Spurs and climbed to tenth place after four recent defeats. Kyrie Irving was the best scorer of the evening with 22 points, while Luka Doncic scored 16 points in the duel between the Texas teams. Maxi Kleber played from the start and had two points and four rebounds. Spurs had to compete without Victor Wembanyama. The Frenchman recently injured his knee in the defeat against the Lakers.
