Francis Ngannou paid tribute to Miocic: ‘Thank you for all the champions, enjoy your well-deserved retirement!’

Stipe Miočić announced the end of his career after the defeat of Jon Jones which caused reactions in the martial arts world. One of those who paid tribute to the American of Croatian roots is the former UFC-ov champion Francis Ngannou.

“Thank you, first, for everything you have done for our sport and above all for the lordship you embody and the example you have given us. I am grateful for how our battles shaped me into a better fighter. Those moments taught me; or more than years in this sport. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement and I wish you all the best in the future,” he wrote on Instagram.

Myčić if proactive the French fought twice in career; he first defeated him by unanimous decision in January 2018, which was Miočić’s third defense of the heavyweight belt. Ngannou got his revenge in 2021 in the penultimate fight of Miočić’s career.
