Rugby mourns the passing of Franco Gargiulo

The Italian Rugby Federation “is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Franco Gargiulo Light blue n. 213, who died in Rome on the afternoon of Sunday 17 November”. Fir wrote this in a note.

Second line, born on 4 October 1941Gargiulo had worn the shirts of Admiral Roma, Buscaglione Roma, CUS Roma, Rugby Roma of which he would later also be President, the Army, Rugby Parma and Cus Genova, where he had followed his Captain in the national team Marco Bollesan in his last championship in the top division. In total in Serie A he played in 238 games, scoring six tries. He made his debut for the national team in 1967 against France and faced Portugal in the same year, returning to the national team in 1968 against Yugoslavia and in 1974 against Sussex.
