Martin, the MotoGP title and the celebration in the name of Silvio Berlusconi

Jorge Martin triumphs in the 2024 MotoGP championship and celebrates the MotoGP champion title by quoting… Silvio Berlusconi. The Spanish Pramac rider won the title with third place on the Barcelona track, fending off Pecco Bagnaia’s last desperate assault. The Piedmontese Ducati rider, world champion in 2022 and 2023, won the last race of the year but was unable to complete the world championship comeback.

Martin, over the moon with the result achieved, celebrated and toasted with his team in the pits. Videos of the celebrations invaded social media profiles and bounced online. Among the various clips, there is one that is at least curious. The Iberian driver, after a few toasts that left traces, harangues his team with a speech. And the quote that the 26-year-old from Madrid gives to the audience is surprising: “As Berlusconi said… Stronger than bad luck, stronger than envy… We won!”, he says, referring to a phrase from the founder of Forza Italia.
