According to “Bild”, Manuel Neuer (38) has stopped training at FC Bayern Munich. The long-time national goalkeeper warmed up with substitute keeper Daniel Peretz and two young goalkeepers two days before the Bundesliga home game against FC Augsburg on Friday evening (8.30 p.m./DAZN). Neuer then began team training under coach Vincent Kompany with the remaining field players. The Bayern captain then went back to the locker room early. No reasons were given in the report.
There was initially no official notification. FC Bayern will hold its press conference on Thursday (10 a.m.) before the home game against Augsburg. Kompany will also be able to answer questions about the 2014 World Cup goalkeeper there.
According to “Bild”, Neuer’s first representative Sven Ulreich (36) was also missing from team training on Tuesday and Wednesday. If both were actually out, Peretz would be in goal. The 24-year-old recently recorded two games without conceding a goal in the Nations League with Israel against France (0-0) and Belgium (1-0).
