Galvão signs with new broadcaster and will narrate Brasileirão in 2025

Galvão Bueno will be Amazon Prime Video’s main name for Brasileirão 2025 broadcasts. The narrator will officially say goodbye to Globo at the end of 2024, after 43 years, and has already agreed to move to streaming.

The information comes from journalist Gabriel Vaquer, from Folha de S.Paulo. Amazon is expected to make the new hire official in the coming days. In addition to the Brasileirão, Galvão will also narrate matches from the Copa do Brasil, which have been shown on the platform since 2022.

Galvão will also have his image used for Amazon marketing. The icon of sports journalism, however, will also continue to invest in its YouTube channel, but will promote the change of name from Canal GB to Galvão Bueno. Cleber Machado, on the other hand, leaves the platform team to narrate the matches for Record.

At the beginning of November, the Amazon Prime Video confirmed the agreement with Liga Forte União in which it acquired the rights to broadcast exclusive games from the Brazilian Championship. The platform announced that it will broadcast 38 games per season, that is, one per round.

The contract lasts for five years, from 2025 to 2029. According to the Folha de S.Paulo report, the contract costs around R$400 million per year for the agreement. In other words, a total of R$2 billion.
