Juve draws a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa

Fresh from the 1-1 away draw with Lille, Juventus finds a new draw on the Aston Villa pitch on the fifth day of the Champions League. At Villa Park it ended goalless despite some good opportunities on both sides, in particular the two providential saves from Martinez and Locatelli to defend their respective goals. Also noteworthy is the goal disallowed for the home team after time expired (charge on Di Gregorio).
Third European match in a row without success for Thiago Motta’s men who move to 8 points, while Unai Emery’s English team achieve their first draw, rising to 10. The first real signal of the match arrives just after the quarter of an hour in work of the home team, with a header from Torres following Bailey’s corner which just flew over the crossbar. In the second half Juventus risks breaking the great balance in the 65th minute, when Conceicao emerges at the far post from Koopmeiners’ corner and heads it into the net,only stopped by a real miracle from Martinez on the line. Not least Locatelli’s response five minutes later, providential in saving McGinn’s right-footed shot with Di Gregorio already beaten. In the final, not much else happens until the very last second of the match, when a goal against Rogers’ Aston Villa is disallowed due to a charge by Diego Carlos on the Juventus goalkeeper.
