1:3 after 10:0 – the Vienna Capitals can’t get going

The 10-0 victory Vienna Capitals on Friday against HC Innsbruck is only worth half since Sunday. In the second home game of this weekend, the Capitals had to Olympia Ljubljana beaten 1:3. This means that the gap between ninth-placed Vienna and sixth place, which would mean direct play-off qualification, has already grown to ten points.

The Capitals were down 2-0 in the final period, but got within 1-2 thanks to a power play goal from Franklin. Kemp missed the best chance to equalize with a penalty shot. In the end, the Slovenians scored into the already empty Vienna goal to make the final score 3-1.

Capitals-Trainer Gerry Fleming said: “That was a good ice hockey game. We had our chances and played hard. It was another thing with a few mistakes.”

Salzburg stops Linz

Red Bull Salzburg won the top game of the round and took third place in the table. The master celebrated against them Black Wings Linz a 5-2 home win, ending Linz’s winning streak, which had come with eight wins in a row. Salzburg has scored points in each of the seven matches since the international break at the beginning of November, picking up 19 of a possible 21 points.

The GET UP secured a 3-1 win against Asiago the three points in the finish. Herburger (55th) and Peeters (58th) each scored after work by Pastujov.
