Genoa and Turin do not hurt each other, signing an insipid 0-0 in the Ferraris match. The Grifone certainly tries with more conviction, but in the end it is the Granata who despair over the disallowed goal against Karamoh. Therefore, both teams confirm the difficulties shown in the last period, playing a game lacking in ideas. Furthermore, the rain, which fell heavily for long stretches, did nothing but increase the teams’ technical errors.
The tension is palpable from the first minutes and the result is a very tactical first half with few goalscoring emotions. At half an hour the game seemed to light up with Frendrup’s long-range shot, which was deflected, however, by Ricci’s providential sliding intervention. On the other hand, however, Toro hit an outside post, thanks to Vojvoda’s excellent insertion into the opponent’s area. In the 35th minute the home team protested against Marinelli, claiming a penalty for Coco’s handball. From the replay, however, you can clearly see how the former Las Palmas player’s arm is perfectly glued to his body. Little entertainment and a lot of boredom even in the second half, despite the attempt by both teams to increase the pace of the game.
A harmless free kick from Miretti and a second attempt from the edge of the box by Frendrup are the Grifone’s only results of the second half. The Granata, on the other hand, did practically nothing until the 89th minute, when the goal of the substitute Karamoh was canceled due to an offside position. In the final, Torino once again came close to scoring the three points: in the 93rd minute, in fact, Leali saved his teammates from the mockery by saving Tameze’s attempt. The offensive players change, but the scoreboard does not budge from parity. With this result Vieira maintains his unbeaten record on the Genoa bench. For Vanoli’s Torino, however, the crisis seems to be endless: today’s point is only the fifth won in the last ten matches.
