Fourth draw in a row for Juventus in Serie A, who avoided defeat at home against bottom-of-the-table Venezia thanks to a penalty scored by Vlahovic in the 95th minute. Gatti’s lead in the 19th minute was answered by Ellertsson in the 61st minute and Gatti’s own goal in the 83rd minute. In the standings the Bianconeri are sixth with 28 points after 16 days, while the lagoon players rise to 10, catching Monza in 19th place.
After an initial study phase, on the first occasion of the match Juventus took the lead in the 19th minute. From a corner kick, Thuram heads the ball to the far post where Gatti emerges and beats Stankovic to make it 1-0. In the 23rd minute, a long ball goes to Vlahovic who misses the touch for Yildiz in the area, frustrating a great opportunity. In the 29th minute the Lagooners were one step away from equalizing: the ball in the area towards Pohjanpalo who fed Andersen, a powerful shot from the edge of the area with the ball hitting the crossbar.
A minute later Andersen passes the ball low into the area for Busio who shoots with his right foot: Thuram slides and sends it for a corner. At 31′ first substitution of the match with Svoboda injured and replaced by Altare. In the 36th minute the home team returns to the attack with a low cross from the right by Weah for Vlahovic, the visiting defense manages to clear. However, the ball hits his arm before ending up in the net. In the 8th minute, Thuram was dangerous with a right-footed shot from outside the area that went just wide. A minute later the former Juventus player Nicolussi Caviglia also tries with the ball which ends up high over the crossbar. In the 10th minute Yildiz tries but Stankovic blocks without too many problems.
In the 15th minute Motta’s team was still on the attack, today in the stands due to disqualification and replaced on the bench by his deputy Hugeux. In the fifth minute of added time, Juventus avoided their first knockout in the league thanks to a handball in the area by Candela: inevitable penalty: From 11 meters Vlahovic wrong-footed Stankovic and made it 2-2.
