St. Pölten’s last chance for their first victory

The trip to Europe ends for the St. Pöltnerinnen in Vienna-Favoriten. On Wednesday (6:45 p.m.) the Austrian champions will host the Swedish team Hammarby in the final game of the group stage of the Champions League.

After five defeats you want to say goodbye with a win.

The celebration of the confident qualification was followed by even greater celebration of the fate of Barcelona and Manchester City in the group draw. After ten games, a new Austrian attendance record and victories over the champions from Azerbaijan, Albania and Slovenia, the adventure now ends.

One that showed that even big teams like Manchester City are vulnerable. “You can be proud of the team’s performance. “We turned the game around against Manchester, defended ourselves bravely against the superiority of Barcelona and scored a goal and were at least on equal terms for a long time in the opening game against Hammarby,” says coach Liese Brancao.

The 2-0 defeat in Stockholm still hurts. “With a bit of luck, a point win against Hammarby is possible,” says Brancao confidently.
