McEnroe e Wilander: “Sinner-Kyrgios? Challenge interesting”

Waiting for the ruling on doping case the world of tennis gathers around Jannik Sinner. The CAS will express its definitive opinion, after a first acquittal and the consequent appeal by Wada, not before February, but in the meantime the blue is exposed to the crusade of Nick Kyrgios. The Australian attacked his integrity several times on X, and then hoped he could challenge him at the Australian Open.

Defending Sinner came the words of a tennis legend like John McEnroe: “Io I’m on his sideI accept your explanation. I love to see sport played at its highest level, and so it would be a great disappointment to me to think that one of the best players on the circuit is voluntarily involved in this doping case,” the former US tennis player said on Andy Roddick’s podcast, also attacked in recent weeks by Kyrgios “Me I therefore want to believe Sinner. At the US Open they clearly explained to us that a ‘millionth of something’I don’t know what exactly, but it really seems like nothing to me. I only hope that this affair does not create problems for our sport.”

To echo him too Mats Wilander who spoke on Eurosport: “I think Sinner is completely innocent. It wasn’t his fault, I don’t think there’s any possibility that he did anything illegal.” The Swede then spoke about a possible challenge with Kyrgios in Melbourne: “It would be interesting to see this challenge and understand whether Jannik would be able to remain calm. Nick is really strong when it comes to stirring up the crowd and on the field he is a much more complete player than we might think.”
