Premier League: Out on stretcher: Worries about West Ham keeper Fabianski

Bad scene in the Premier League game between FC Southampton and West Ham United (0-1): Guest goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski had to be substituted after a collision and taken off the field on a stretcher. The 39-year-old may have injured his head. There was initially no further information about the football professional’s health.

Fabianski apparently received an elbow from opponent Nathan Wood in the face after a corner kick almost half an hour later. The 57-time Polish national goalkeeper was treated on the pitch for several minutes. Southampton keeper Aaron Ramsdale also rushed over from the opposite side to ask about him.

Füllkrug prepares the winning goal

Fabianski was eventually replaced by Alphonse Aréola and brought out to applause from the crowd.

German international striker Niclas Füllkrug headed West Ham’s winning goal through Jarrod Bowen in the 59th minute. It was the former Bundesliga attacker’s second assist this season.
