Premier League: Chelsea overthrown, Tottenham bogged down… What to remember from the afternoon’s matches

After the new poor performance of Manchester City, held in check by Everton (1-1), five matches took place this Thursday afternoon as part of the 18th day and Boxing Day in the Premier League.

Opposed to Fulham at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea thought they would secure a place on the podium by the end of the year, or even move closer to Liverpool, thanks to the solo goal of their in-form man, Cole Palmer (16th, 1 -0). The Magpies were, in particular, able to benefit from the red card of the providential man of Aston Villa, Jhon Durán, author of an unfortunate gesture on Fabian Schär (32nd).

Tottenham continues to fall

11th in the standings, Tottenham can no longer do it in the league. Facing a surprising Nottingham Forest since the start of the season, Spurs dominated without managing to score and were caught on a counter well led and concluded by Anthony Elanga (28th, 1-0).
