New coach for ice hockey professional Seider in Detroit

The troubled Detroit Red Wings around German national ice hockey player Moritz Seider have separated from their head coach. The team will be coached by Todd McLellan instead of Derek Lalonde, as the club from the North American professional league NHL announced.

The Red Wings have only won 13 of 34 games this season and are in second-to-last place in the Atlantic Division. Most recently they lost 4-0 to the St. Louis Blues in front of their own crowd.

McLellan receives a multi-year contract in Detroit. He was once an assistant coach for the Red Wings. From 2015 to 2018 he coached the Edmonton Oilers and there also the German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl.
