The Dutch mourn Ivanušec: ‘There is nothing left of him’

Luka Ivanušec (26) left for 7.8 million euros last summer Dynamo u Feyenoord. He hoped to make a breakthrough in his career, but in the end it didn’t quite work out that way. He took a step back. He played solidly last season, scored three goals and assisted five times in the championship, but everything changed when coach Arne Sloto left for Liverpool. Brian Priske succeeded him, and the Croatian footballer fell out of all plans.

He was stuck on the bench and played only 11 games in all competitions, but recently the coach has less and less faith in him, so he only played in four of the last ten games. The target is the criticism of the experts there.

– I was most disappointed by Luka Ivanušec, the Croatian international. There is nothing left of him. We don’t even see him anymore. The game is difficult – said the legendary Dutch attackerč Pierre Van Hooijdonk who played for Benfica, Celtic, Feyenoord.

He was also criticized by Khalid Boulahrouz, a former gameč Chelsea and Feyenoord.

– Ivanušec really annoyed me. He played on the left wing and did everything that was not asked of him. At one point I thought – you are not comfortable in the game doing such things. He was completely outplayed in transition. During the entire match, he did not show that he wanted to be important. It’s not like playing against Manchester City and against Walker who always outplays you.

Anyway, the Croatian football player will have to find a new club during the winter transfer window because there is obviously no future for him in Rotterdam. In recent days, there has been talk of a return to Dinamo, but such a thing is quite difficult to achieve at the moment.
