Another important success for Patrik Lainee

Patrik Laine’s chain is starting to find chemistry.

Ottawa

Patrik Laine got an assist when the Montreal Canadiens, who were in good shape, beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5–2. The wave was arranged together by a defender Michael Mathesonin with Alex Newhookin the seventh goal of the season, which gave Montreal a 1–0 lead.

Lainea now has ten (8+2) points in 12 matches.

Laine, Newhook and Kirby Dachin formed by the Canadiens second chain is coming to life. In the previous match, the trio scored two goals and now succeeded again.

For a long time, it seemed that playing the chain was not going to hit its stride. In the previous match, Laine was left without power points, but was strong in organizing both hits of his chain.

Montreal’s four chain, on the other hand, has been operating for a long time. Its right winger Joel Armia forged 1+1 performances against Tampa. Armia has scored seven goals and a total of 18 points in 36 games this season.

About the other members of the chain of four Emil Heineman got an assist, and Jake Evans succeeded in scoring.

The win is Montreal’s second in a row and fifth in the last six games.

Buffalo Sabers goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was the hero of his team. He stopped 35 of 37 shots as the Sabers knocked off St. 4–2 on the away ice of Louis Blues. There were several top saves in the group.

Buffalo, which played a miserable early season, has now found a good mood and has already won three matches in a row.

Also the young Finnish guard of the Ottawa Senators Leevi Meriläinen, 22, played excellently. He stopped 30 shots and allowed just one behind his back against the Minnesota Wild.

The match was the third of the season and the fifth of his career for Meriläinen in the NHL.
