The attacker Agustín Canobbio do Athletico is among the wishes of coach Mano Menezes to reinforce the Fluminense em 2025.
According to the journalist Venê Casagrandethe Rio team has been negotiating for the 26-year-old player for a few days. The negotiation is considered difficult, but Flu would be optimistic about having the player next season.
Purchased from Peñarol for around R$15 million at the beginning of 2022, Canobbio has a link with Furacão until December 2026 – the Uruguayans remained with 25% of the economic rights.
Currently, the player’s market value is approximately R$30 million, according to the specialized website Transfer market. Revealed by Fénix, Canobbio played three seasons at Peñarol before arriving in Curitiba.
Canobbio no Milan?
Last week, Canobbio’s name was discussed with Milan, in Italy, as a future destination. The negotiation, however, was denied by the player’s advisors and he returned normally to CT do Caju on December 26th, along with the rest of the squad.
The Uruguayan’s stay at Athletico, on the other hand, is difficult and is in question after the team’s relegation to Série B of the Brasileirão.
After three seasons as a starter, he became a target for major Brazilian clubs, such as Internacional and Palmeiras. In January 2024, Granada tried to sign him on loan, but Furacão refused the deal.
For Athletico, in three years, there were 141 matches, with 18 goals and 16 assists. In October, the player suffered bone edema in the sacral bone, he returned in the last games of the championship, but was unable to help the club avoid falling.
