The Lions Frankfurt won the sixth DEL outdoor game in front of over 45,000 spectators. On Saturday evening, the outsider won against co-favorites Adler Mannheim 5-1 (0-0, 1-0, 4-1) in the Eintracht Frankfurt football stadium.
In front of an official 45,110 spectators, including a good 10,000 fans from Mannheim, Daniel Wirt (25th minute), Cameron Brace (47th), Dennis Lobach (48th), Maxim Matuschkin (50th) and Linus Fröberg (55th) scored the goals for the Lions, who achieved their third derby victory in the third duel of the season with the Eagles. Veteran Matthias Plachta (53′) scored too late for Mannheim.
