Draisaitl leads Oilers to third win in a row

National ice hockey player Leon Draisaitl led the Edmonton Oilers to their third win in a row in the NHL. In the 4:2 (2:0, 1:1, 1:1) win against the Seattle Kraken led by goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer, Draisaitl scored a goal and scored the final score into an empty goal.

It was the 14th game in a row in which Draisaitl was involved in at least one goal. He has only achieved this once before in his NHL career (2018/19). With 29 goals, Draisaitl also clearly leads the top scorer list.

Grubauer showed a decent performance and saved 28 shots on goal against the clearly superior Oilers. The Kraken had just 17 shots on goal.

Seider with three assists

It was also a good evening for Moritz Seider and the Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings achieved their fourth win in a row with a 4-2 win over the top team, the Winnipeg Jets. Seider provided three of the four goals and now has 20 assists this season.

Without Nico Sturm, the San Jose Sharks won 3-2 against the New Jersey Devils. Cody Ceci scored the winning goal with 25 seconds left.

JJ Peterka’s Buffalo Sabers lost 3-1 to the Vegas Golden Knights, currently the best team in the league. The German attacker assisted on the consolation goal in the final third for the 18th time this season.

Ovechkin catches up in the all-time top scorer list

Meanwhile, Alexander Ovetschkin continues to chase Wayne Gretzky’s historical record. Ovetschkin scored his 872nd goal in the NHL in the clear 7:4 win for his Washington Capitals against the New York Rangers. He is now only 22 goals away from the record.
