Usual eve of a Roman derby, knives and clubs seized near the stadium

Modified plastic rods with sharp metal tips, kitchen knives, baseball bats, as well as wooden bats, some of which are also combined with high potential pyrotechnic devices. These are some of the objects seized by the police forces during preventive checks near the Olimpico against both ultras fans of the capital. There are also numerous knives that were found hidden in some flowerbeds, particularly in the northern area of ​​the stadium. The deployment of the Police Forces to delimit the border of the areas respectively intended for each fan group, as already planned in the hours before by the Police Headquarters, effectively prevented the advance of the group of Roma fans, as well as the Lazio supporters, each of whom remained in the initial position.

After the groups belonging to the two Ultras components entered the stadium, the presence of two groups – equal to approximately 300 people – was recorded respectively in Piazzale Ponte Milvio and near the River bar. In both cases, many of the members of the ultra groups showed up with their faces covered by helmets and with some objects suitable for offending. During the phases of access of the Lazio fans to the sports facility for the preparation of the choreography in the Curva Nord sector, a Biancoceleste supporter was found in possession of a screwdriver and another object useful for attacking. The fan – a twenty-year-old Roman – was reported and subjected to Daspo.
