The men’s and women’s ski jumping World Cup calendars will be unified within two years, starting with the 2026-27 season, the International Ski Federation (FIS) has confirmed.
“The clear objective is to unite women and men as soon as possible,” said men’s event director Sandro Pertile ahead of Monday’s Four Hills final.
The organization has been working “on the development of a clear plan since the spring” to harmonize both seasons. “But things are easier to finalize on paper than in reality. The clear objective is that we have the men’s and women’s competitions together in 2026-27,” he stated, before reporting that the 2025-26 season will be a transition .
Thus, female athletes, who often continue to compete on smaller normal hills and in front of smaller crowds, would equalize their conditions with those of men, in a sport in which joint events are an exception.
