Football West Ham, who plays in the English Premier League, announced on Wednesday on their websitenot Spanish Julen Lopetegui continue as the head coach of the club. The rest of the coaching staff of the London club will also be renewed.
West Ham justified their decision by saying that the season so far has not met the club’s goals. West Ham is ranked 14th in the Premier League. The team has collected 23 points from their 20 matches.
In their two most recent league matches, Lopetegui’s crew was beaten by Liverpool and Manchester City with a combined goal difference of 9–1. West Ham have not yet announced the name of their future head coach.
Previously this season Manchester United, Leicester, Wolverhampton and Southampton changed their head coach in the Premier League.
West Ham appointed Lopetegui as their head coach in May. He officially started at the helm of the London group last summer.
West Ham’s next match is on Friday when they face Aston Villa away in the FA Cup.
