The Kreischberg invites freeskiers and snowboarders to the home World Cup

After training on site over the past few days, the qualification for women in freeski and snowboard will take place this Thursday. The freeski men are in the qualification on Saturday, and the two freeski finals will take place from 4 p.m.

Gasser: “One of the most beautiful feelings”

It will then be the turn of the snowboarders on Sunday. After the men’s qualification, the finals are also planned for Sunday from 4 p.m.

Anna Gasser and Clemens Millauer narrowly missed the snowboard podium at the spectacular finale in Klagenfurt. Both ended up in fifth place after a good performance. “The result is irrelevant,” said Gasser. “Even though I didn’t win or be on the podium, it was one of the best feelings of my career.”

Return before the Olympics

The ÖSV athlete celebrates with the freeskiers on the Kreischberg Lara Wolf their World Cup comeback. The Tyrolean announced her retirement in October 2023, but is now returning to competitive sports. At the beginning of October last year, Wolf competed in two FIS slopestyle competitions in the ski hall in Landgraaf, the Netherlands, and celebrated two victories. The first step for the 24-year-old is now to reconnect with the world elite.

The big goal is to take part in their third one Olympic Games after Pyeongchang 2018 and Peking 2022. “I can hardly wait to wear a bib number again. It means a lot to me that it starts at Kreischberg,” said Wolf, who has many memories here.

In addition to Wolf and Svancer, there are also freeskiers Luke Müllauer and Hannes Rudigier at the start; among the snowboarders alongside Gasser and Millauer too Kristina Holzfeind and Eric Dovjak from Carinthia and the Styrian woman Hanna Karrer. The snowboarders are coming to Austria again this season for the World Cup: on March 13th and 14th for slopestyle in Flachauwinkl.
