Vitor Roque starts on the bench, is overshadowed by the Brazilian and Betis falls down the table

Betis lost to Valladolid, 1-0, this Saturday (11), and lost a place in the La Liga league table. Brazilian Vitor Roque’s team fell from 9th to 10th in the standings.

The ex-Athletico player, by the way, started at reserve bank of the team led by coach, Manuel Pellegrini. After missing an incredible goal against Huesca in Betis’ previous match, Vitor Roque was passed over for Bakambu in command of the attack.

Vitor Roque was called on, replacing Bakambu himself, 11 minutes into the second half, right after Betis conceded the goal scored by Kike Pérez.

Tigrinho had good movement, created excellent opportunities, but ended up failing again. In the final minute of the game, he received a yellow card after trying to simulate a maximum penalty.

Brazilian from Valladolid stands out and overshadows Vitor Roque

The one who stood out in the match was another Brazilian. Striker Marcos André, 28 years old, was the main offensive player for Valladolid, a team owned by former striker Ronaldo Fenômeno.

The crucial pass came from Marcos André that pierced the Betis defense and found fellow Brazilian Lucas Rosa on the baseline on the left side. The full-back only had the trouble of crossing to find Kike Pérez free in the area to send it into the net.

In addition to the decisive pass, Marcos André gave the Sevilla team a hard time, making good saves and helping Valladolid keep the ball when they were already ahead on the scoreboard.

Marcos André never played in Brazilian football. Still in the youth categories, he left Guaratinguetá for Celta de Vigo, from Spain, in 2015. Since then, he has built his entire Spanish football career.

He played for smaller teams, such as Órdenes and Logroñes, before arriving at Valladolid, in the 2019/20 season. He would still be loaned to Mirandés, before establishing himself at Ronaldo’s club.

In 2021/22, he was sold to Valencia, but after two seasons, he returned to Valladolid last season. In the current season, Marcos André has three goals in 14 matches.
