Argel Fuchs detonates classic refereeing with Athletico

The technician Argel Fuchs got angry with the assistant Bruno Boschilia after Paraná Clube’s defeat in the classic against Athletico by 2-1.

In Athletico’s equalizer, goalkeeper Gabriel Gasparotto saved Bruno Zapelli’s penalty, but Lucas Di Yorio scored on the rebound. The coach’s complaint is that the center forward was ahead of the shot and had an advantage in getting to the ball.

Before the start of the press conference, Argel Fuchs showed on a tablet, to the reporters present at the Ligga Arena, the image with Di Yorio invading the penalty area at the moment of the penalty. Then, indignant, the coach shouted at Bruno Boschilia.

“A flag at this level cannot miss an easy shot. He is standing behind the goal and has a view of who is going to invade or not and, mainly, of the athlete behind the goal. This is not crying, I want to make it clear, but an observation. I want this to be explored”, said the Tricolor coach.

“It’s a FIFA flag, which is in the World Cup and cannot miss a shot like that. If the penalty is canceled, it’s another shot and another game. The pressure would double on Athletico, the fans were already upset”, he reinforced, indignant .

The coach also stated that Boschilia influenced the result. “The flag cannot miss this move. He needs to be charged for this move, he needs to get home and watch the video”, he demanded.

“The Arbitration Commission has to look at the video and the Paraná Federation too. We have to have a legal and fair product. Today everyone was fair, the fans, the players, but the flag left something to be desired. He directly influenced the result of the game”, he protested.

VAR in the Paranaense Championship

To avoid new mistakes, Argel demanded the presence of the video referee at the Campeonato Paranaense.

The FPF, however, will only use VAR in the state in the semifinal and final games.

“I feel sad for our fans who didn’t deserve to lose like that. But we also don’t want to win that way. If we win like this, I’ll be the first to speak. I don’t want to win like this, it’s not fair. Football has to be fair. It’s time to adopt VAR, there’s no point in waiting. The Federation is alert”, commented the Paraná Clube coach.

Tricolor returns to the field next Thursday (16), at 8pm, against Operário, in Vila Capanema, for the 2nd round of the Paranaense Championship.
