Sadness in Skopje: Former assistant coach Lina Červara passed away

Aleksandar Jović former assistant to the legendary Croatian handball coach Lina Červar and former coach of Proleta from Skopje, died suddenly at the age of 52.

He worked with Ervar in Macedonian Metalurg as assistant coach of the first team and head coach of the second team. He ended his playing career in the same club and started his coaching career after obtaining his diploma in Croatia.

His first club as a handball player was Sloboda Solana, he went through all the ages there, made his debut before his 18th birthday and was a representative of the former Yugoslavia in cadet and junior age.

Apart from Sloboda, he also played for a number of Macedonian clubs Metalurg, Vardar and Pelister, among others, and had an episode in Brodomerkur from Split in the 2000/01 season.

“Aleksandar Jovi has passed away – a man who dedicated his entire working life to handball. He will be remembered as a dedicated player, a top coach, a sincere friend, a fan, a person who spreads only positive energy and laughter, so that his character does not go into black and white photography. May his cheerful spirit live forever. Handball and sports public today they lost a valuable sports worker, who was part of the golden generation that raised handball in Macedonia.
