Prince William has become known as a supporter of Aston Villa, who plays in the English Premier League. On Wednesday, the prince organized a very memorable moment for a few other Villa fans before the evening’s match against Everton.
William, 42, asked the club to arrange a meeting with the fans in a pub in the center of Birmingham, sauntered in and offered eight Villa season ticket holders beers. He sat down to chat with fans about his favorite club and drank a glass of cider himself.
“He was a great guy, so down to earth and loves Villa and the passion we all feel for the club,” the 18-year-old Daniel Jones comment on the meeting with the future king.
William was in Birmingham on official business. He spent half an hour in the pub and then took the train to London. William has been a spectator at several Villa matches. Among other things, he celebrated on the spot when Villa beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League in the fall.
