Harri Heliövaara and Henry Patten in a drag race in Australia: “Really good feelings”

Harri Heliövaara and his British counterpart Henry Patten have advanced to the third round of the Australian Open men’s doubles.

Heliövaara and Patten, ranked sixth, beat the Australian couple who received a wild card to the tournament in the second round Marc Polmans/Matthew Romios erin 7–6 (7–2), 6–3.

“Really good feelings. Gusty wind, against the Australian couple playing in front of the home crowd, but we kept our heads down,” Heliövaara said after the match.

Noise hazard and Patten’s next opponent will be an Australian pair Tristan Schoolkaten and by Adam Walton when faced with the United States Austin Krajicekin and Rajeev Ramin.

“In the first tie-break we found a couple of special performances, and in the second set we managed to stay focused, keep the pressure on the opponents. In the end, it was rewarded with a burglary. Overall a successful match”, Heliövaara assessed.

“The third round calls for the first time in Australia, you have to be satisfied with that, but of course we went for it and even further. The journey continues”, Heliövaara summed up.
