Claudio Ranieri’s announcement, "I’ll stop at the end of the season"

He had already said it at the end of the last championship, when he led Cagliari to earn a deserved and hard-fought salvation in Serie A. But then the call from Roma forced him to take back his tracksuit and boots and present himself in Trigoria as the new coach. Claudio Ranieri, 73 years old, has decided this time: he will really stop at the end of the year.

His experience as Giallorossi coach ends next June. He announced it on “Dribbling”, broadcast on Saturday at 6.30pm on Rai 2. In view of the 2024-25 season “the club will be looking for a new coach capable of bringing the team into the elite of Italian and European football”.
