Football club Liverpool confirmed their place at the top of the Champions League on Tuesday evening when they beat Lille 2-1 at their home stadium.
Liverpool have won all seven of their league matches. Lille’s loss was the first in all of the team’s last 22 games. The French team is in 11th place in the league after the match.
Second place in the league is now held by Barcelona, who beat Benfica as a guest 5–4. Barcelona are three points behind Liverpool.
Leverkusen, on the other hand, lost away to Atletico Madrid with goals 1–2. Leverkusen is now sixth in the standings with 13 points, while Atletico moved up to third place with 15 points and directly into the playoffs.
Screamer guard Lukas Hradeckyn instead, the team’s second goalkeeper, Czech, played exceptionally well in Leverkusen’s goal Matej Kovar.
Before Tuesday night’s defeat, Leverkusen had won no fewer than 12 of their last matches in a row in all competitions.
