Basketball – FC Bayern gets Hollatz

The FC Bayern basketball team has signed national player Justus Hollatz, 23. As the Munich team announced, the playmaker comes from Turkish Euroleague participant Efes Istanbul. The point guard’s contract is valid beyond the end of the season until the summer of 2028. “We see him as another important building block for the long-term development of our team with the best German national players outside of the NBA,” said Bayern sporting director Dragan Tarlac.

Hollatz, who was born in Hamburg, played at Hamburg Towers between 2018 and 2022 and then moved abroad. After working in Spain, Slovenia and Turkey, Hollatz is now returning to Germany. The development player was part of the German team in 2023 that sensationally won the World Cup under the then national coach and current Bayern coach Gordon Herbert. Hollatz can no longer play in the Euroleague this season due to the substitution regulations.
