Franz Wagner excels in Orlando’s team record win

Franz Wagner achieved his first win after his comeback in the NBA with the Orlando Magic. After a 20-game injury break and a defeat in the first game after his return, the national basketball player led the Magic to a 121:113 (54:53) home win over the Detroit Pistons. Wagner scored 25 points in the final period, tying Tracy McGrady’s team record for points in a quarter.

“This is very cool, especially after my difficult start. But I remained confident and continued to play my game,” said Wagner about his record game. In total, the 23-year-old had 32 points, seven assists and four rebounds. The Magic opened the fourth quarter with a 14-2 run to pull ahead by double digits, scoring 42 points as a team in the period. Tristan da Silva had five points.

With the victory over a direct playoff competitor, the Magic ended their negative series of five defeats in a row, but remain in seventh place in the East behind the sixth-placed Pistons.

Dallas loses finals rematch, Kleber breaks his foot

The Dallas Mavericks lost their first game against the Boston Celtics after their duel in last year’s NBA Finals.
