World Handball World 2025: one last match then the wait for the Blues before the quarter -final

For the moment, everything is fine. The Blues, who made a full card (5 games, 5 victories) with a last success Thursday against the Netherlands, without difficulty trace their journey in this World Cup, like Denmark, the eternal rival. Like the reigning Olympic champions, they will have to wait for the last meetings of the main tour to find out their opponent in the quarterfinals next Tuesday (5.30 p.m.), in Zagreb.

There were still four of them in the middle of the afternoon to be able to challenge the European champions. There are only three of them after the 2nd day of the group 4 disputed this Friday. Iceland, Croatia, and Egypt are equal to points (6) and keep all their chances, unlike Slovenia (4) which will have to count on a (unlikely) miracle. Everything will be played during the final day this Sunday.

This Friday, group 3 led to a huge sensation with the eliminations of Sweden, Spain and Norway which, before their last match on Sunday, can no longer join Portugal and Brazil. These two surprise teams are qualified for the quarter -finals in the part of the table opposite to that of France.

“The objective is Oslo (place of the final) but we are not there yet,” warns Karl Konan, the future Parisian. And we do not imagine the coach take his next opponents with casualness, starting with the North Macedonia, this Saturday. “We have a few days to prepare the quarter -final, the important moment of the approaching competition,” says Guillaume Gille. There is TAF in perspective. »»
