Football: when Wissa celebrates Brentford’s goal even before his partner takes the penalty

They are the two strong men of Brentford and share blind confidence. This Sunday, during the Bees’ victory at Crystal Palace (1-2), Yoane Wissa celebrated by raising his arms even before Bryan Mbeumo took his penalty. The former FC Lorient footballer did well since his partner scored.

The images are enough to make you smile. While Bryan Mbeumo, 14 goals in the Premier League this season, took his run up, Yoane Wissa started running with his arms in the air. Perhaps it was a cunning tactic to distract the opposing goalkeeper, but he does not seem to have noticed it. Finally, with a cross shot from the left, Mbeumo scored the first goal of the match.

Having passed through Troyes before joining England, Bryan Mbeumo is the fourth top scorer in the Kingdom, tied with Cole Palmer and Chris Wood. Only Mohamed Salah (19 goals), Erling Haaland (18) and Alexander Isak (17) do better.

If he stood out above all for the funny timing of his celebration this Sunday, Yoane Wissa is not to be outdone. The striker has 11 goals this season in the Premier League. Almost as good as last year, when he scored 12 times.
