German ski jumping team in third place in Willingen

The German ski jumpers collected some confidence in difficult times at the home World Cup in Willingen. Andreas Wellinger, Philipp Raimund, Katharina Schmid and Selina Freitag jumped in third place in the mixed team competition. “It is not celebrated as big as a victory, but I think we’ll be toast,” said Friday in the ARD.

The male team of national coach Stefan Horngacher has not made it to the podium since mid-December. The women trained by Heinz Kuttin were recently more successful.

Germany only had to give up the victorious quartet from Norway and Austria at the start of the three-day ski jumping party at the Mühlenkopfschanze. Wellinger, Schmid, Friday and Pius Paschke won the only mixed jumping this season in Lillehammer in November.

Slovenian disqualified
