Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis were artistic-fighting for the European Championship Medal

Ice dance is led by the Italian couple defending the championship.

Ice dancers Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis Fourth place in the free dance of the Tallinn European Championships. The duo made a record of 81.26 on Friday’s rhythm dance, with only 0.31 points away from third place.

“We changed the structure of the last Choreo step line quite well before the European Championships. We made it more dancing and fun, ”Versluis said in a news release from the Figure Skating Association.

“I don’t know where my skirt got stuck in the middle of the program, but fortunately it had no effect on the points,” Turkkila said.

Ice dance is led by a champion -defending Italian pair Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri with points 84.23. French EVGENIIA LOPAREVA and Geoffrey Brissard are 82.75 with a second. Yuka Orihara and Juho Pirinen Dance to eighth with their record scores of 75.70. They secured their place in the top 20 and the free dance.

“Three points over the previous record are really much in the competition, so the emotions came to the surface,” Pirinen admitted.

“Today I enjoy every moment on the ice. I was really surprised by such good points, ”Orihara continued.

Free dance will compete on Saturday.
