Nathalie Armbruster celebrated the first World Cup victory of her career and thus ensured the first success of a German in the Nordic combination. The 19-year-old confidently prevailed at the World Cup in the Austrian Seefeld in the Compact race after a jump and the subsequent five-kilometer run.

In her 15th podium, Norwegian Gyda Westvold Hansen referred her to second place by 37.7 seconds, third was Haruka Kasai (+ 41.7 seconds) from Japan. “I am completely overwhelmed, my tears are running down,” said Armbruster. “I’m so incredibly happy, I don’t even know what to say.”

Armbruster only writes history and then Abitur

Armbruster, which had already become third in the mass start competition on Friday, also benefited from the disqualification of the Norwegian World Cup-leading Ida Marie Hagen, whose suit was not in accordance with the rules when jumping. So far she had won all the seasonal races.

With this, Armbruster, who is writing her Abitur this year, also has the best chance of the premiere victory of the so-called Seefeld triples for the first time. This ends on Sunday with a Gundersen competition, with a jump and the final cross-country skiing.
