Biathlon – Puff replaces Voigt at World Cup

Biathlete Johanna Puff replaces the sick Vanessa Voigt at the upcoming World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland (February 12th to 23rd). As the German Ski Association announced, the Puff, which comes from the Raubling from Upper Bavaria, was able to secure its place in the team through strong performances at the EM, which took place last week. The federal police officer finished the competitions in Martell (South Tyrol) with two gold medals, each in singles and with the season, as well as two top ten places in singles and in the persecution.

In Switzerland, Puff and her teammates Franziska Preuß, Selina Grotian, Julia Tannheimer and Sophia Schneider will be hunting for the DSV. The fifth place in the German women’s team had become free due to Voigt’s failure. The Thuringian Voigt had recently had to cancel all the remaining competitions of the current season because of the consequences of a severe respiratory infection.
