Miika Elomo is dead

A long -time ice hockey player from Turku died.

Hockey coach Miika Elomo is dead. He was 47 when he died.

Elomo’s death was told by his club Cergy-Pontoise.

“As shocked and sad, we say we have just heard of our head coach Miika Elomo’s death. All our thoughts are with his wife Mary and his loved ones, ”the club wrote On Instagram.

Miika Elomo played for a long time in the SM League before his career as a coach. TPS’s breeder played in the league in TPS and also hockey in Turku in Kiekko-67 ranks. Later, Elomo played in HIFK and Blues.

When young, Elomo was reserved for the NHL in the first round. He was Washington’s first booking and the 23rded player for the whole event.

Elomo hockeyed for three seasons (1996-98 and 1999-2000), mainly in the Portland Pirates Pirates Farm Society and recorded two NHL matches in the Capitals shirt.

There was a loan back in the SM league.

2000-01 Elomo played AHL in St. John Flames. He then returned to Finland to play in Finland.

Elomo He coached as an assistant coach in the Finnish Champions League and was TUTO head coach 2015-19. After that, he was part of the coaching team for Finland for two years.

The career also accommodates year -long coaching in Norway and Poland.

For the last two seasons, Elomo has worked as head coach of the French Main Series club Cergy.
